OZEV Approved Installers

We are happy to report that following a lengthy wait, HEI Group has become approved EV charger installers by (OZEV) the office for zero emission vehicles.

Our OZEV registration approval covers the (EVHS) electric vehicle homecharge scheme and also the (WCS) workplace charging scheme. Various funding, and future criteria are updated by OZEV.

In December we sent the first of our professional electricians, Steven and Rob to undertake training with the NICEIC for electrical vehicle charging equipment installation, they passed and gained NICEIC certification. The course covered the installation of electric vehicle charging equipment (Mode 3) in accordance with the requirements of BS 7671:2018 + Amendment 1:2020 (Section 722 Electric Vehicles Charging Installations) and IET Code of Practice – Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation (4th Edition).

This marks an exciting time in transportation, as we see the decline of the internal combustion engine and a move to cleaner technology and renewable energy sources. Electric vehicles are seeing fast growing adoption and support from governments and manufacturers will only fuel this. At HEI we are preparing ourselves and aligning with our customers impending needs and market demand for ev chargers.

Our Managing Director Robert Harper said “All new homes built in England will be required by law to have EV charging points installed, and the law also covers new workplaces, supermarkets and buildings having major renovations. Industry analysts estimate demand for 145K extra chargers to be fitted across England every year”.

We are in the process of selecting 3 EV charger manufacturers so that we can become authorised installers and partners. We aim to complete our selection and OEM training so that we can offer quality EV charger points for everyone’s budget; watch this space!
