Football Stars Come Together for Mental Health
Castlefield X1 and Birmingham City All Stars Faced Off in Charity Match for MIND.

Tom Derome & Tom Ross organised the charity football match in memory of Kevin Kerr on Sunday 13th August 2023 at the Boldmere St Michaels football ground in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.
We were made aware of the event and given the opportunity for HEI Group to sponsor the shirts and support the day and worthy cause for improving mental health. The Mind Charity to Benefit from the donations of the Football Match.

Sadly just over 12 months ago Castlefield X1 lost a dear friend Kevin Kerr. On a group chat between a number of former friends it was decided to put the team back together and have a football match against BCFC all stars which took place last august 2022 on a great day BCFC beat a very good Castlefield side 4-2 raising £6333 for Birmingham Mind. There have been various other events, but with the success of last years game and fundraising a second match against BCFC all stars was organised for this year.
A great day was had by all and Castlefield X1 managed to secure a very convincing win!

Match Summary: comments below from Birmingham City Former Players Association:
“A heavy defeat for the Blues All Stars to today. Beaten 5-0 by Castlefield X1 in aid of the MIND Charity. Only our 4th defeat in 30 years. Massive Congratulations to Castlefield as they were the better side and worthy winners.
No excuses about the result but a big reason was that the All Stars were seriously depleted with Craig Gardner, Roger Johnson, Dele Adebola, Darren Carter, Mat Sadler, Marcus Painter, Richard Beale, Martin O’Connor, Denis Bailey, Dean Holtham and Peter Till all unavailable. with two pulling out this morning. However full credit to the lads that turned out for us they gave their all but to no avail,
Great hospitality at Boldmere St Michaels who always make us very welcome.”
